MySQL from Developers' Perspective

While DBAs manage the MySQL Server at a high level, actual work in the databases is done by developers or end-users.

Typical tasks performed by database developers:

  • Designing stable, reliable and effective databases per business requirements
  • Creating tables, views and indexes
  • Creating functions, procedures and triggers
  • Maintaining optimum performance of databases
  • Loading and unloading from database tables
  • Testing the programs
  • Providing data management support to users

We will be studying the MySQL further from developers' perspective in this learning series.
