We have also moved to CloudxLab.com.]<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is Machine Learning?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Machine Learning is programming computers to optimize a Performance using example data or past experience, it is a branch of Artificial Intelligence.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Types of Machine Learning<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Machine learning is broadly categorized into three buckets:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Supervised Learning<\/b>\u00a0&#8211; Using <strong>Labeled<\/strong> training data, to create a classifier that can predict the output for unseen inputs.<\/li>\n<li><b>Unsupervised Learning<\/b>\u00a0&#8211; Using <strong>Unlabeled<\/strong> training data to create a function that can predict the output.<\/li>\n<li><b>Semi-Supervised Learning<\/b>\u00a0&#8211; Make use of unlabeled data for training &#8211; typically a small amount of labeled data with a large amount of unlabeled data.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Machine Learning Applications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Recommend Friends, Dates, Products to end-user.<\/li>\n<li>Classify content into pre-defined groups.<\/li>\n<li>Find Similar content based on Object Properties.<\/li>\n<li>Identify key topics in large Collections of Text.<\/li>\n<li>Detect Anomalies within given data.<\/li>\n<li>Ranking Search Results with User Feedback Learning.<\/li>\n<li>Classifying DNA sequences.<\/li>\n<li>Sentiment Analysis\/ Opinion Mining<\/li>\n<li>Computer Vision.<\/li>\n<li>Natural Language Processing,<\/li>\n<li>BioInformatics.<\/li>\n<li>Speech and HandWriting Recognition.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Mahout<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Mahout \u2013 Keeper\/Driver of Elephants. Mahout is a Scalable Machine Learning Library built on Hadoop, written in Java and its Driven by Ng et al.\u2019s paper \u201cMapReduce for Machine Learning on Multicore\u201d.
