{"id":690,"date":"2017-08-30T09:35:50","date_gmt":"2017-08-30T09:35:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.cloudxlab.com\/?p=690"},"modified":"2017-09-09T07:22:14","modified_gmt":"2017-09-09T07:22:14","slug":"cloudxlab-conducts-another-successful-webinar-big-data-ai","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cloudxlab.com\/blog\/cloudxlab-conducts-another-successful-webinar-big-data-ai\/","title":{"rendered":"CloudxLab Conducts Another Successful Webinar On \u201cBig Data &amp; AI\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Buoyed by the success of our previous webinar and excited by the unending curiosity of our audience, we at CloudxLab decided to conduct another webinar on \u201cBig Data &amp; AI\u201d on 24th August. \u00a0Mr Sandeep Giri, founder of CloudxLab, was the lead presenter in the webinar. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A graduate from IIT Roorkee with more than 15 years of experience in companies such as DE Shaw, Inmobi &amp; Amazon, Sandeep conducted the webinar to the appreciation of all.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 180px;\"><img class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-691\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.cloudxlab.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/What-is-AI.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"869\" height=\"653\" \/><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h3><b>The Scope:<\/b><\/h3>\n<p>The webinar covered the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Introduction to Big Data<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Technology Stack to Collect, Store &amp; Process Big Data<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Artificial Intelligence: Objectives &amp; Methodologies<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Machine Learning: Types &amp; Sub-types<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Artificial Neural Networks &amp; Deep Learning<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><b>The Response:<\/b><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Webinar received 700+ registrations, out of whom, 400+ attended<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Participants came from very diverse educational and professional backgrounds, ranging from computer science to humanities<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Amongst the audience, freshers were more interested in learning the fundamentals while the experts wanted to clarify their doubts<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><b>The Flow:<\/b><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sandeep initiated the webinar<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">by providing a snapshot of his professional background along with a brief on learning services provided by Cloudxlab<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He introduced the concept of Big Data &amp; AI through the example of how computer learned to play Mario through repeated iterations and improving on each iteration by analysing the results of all previous iterations<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The presenter then explained how IoT is creating humongous amounts of data ranging from structured to semi-structured to unstructured<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Thereafter, Sandeep explained the relevance of Collect-Store-Process cycle for Big Data<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The presenter then explained the various Big Data Storage systems such as HDFS, Amazon S3, Cassandra &amp; HBase. Furthermore, he explained the relevance of Kafka &amp; Amazon SQS for handling fast incoming data<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The discussion on Parallel Processing covered the pros and cons of various approaches: multi-core, GPGPU &amp; distributed computing<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The presenter, then, summarised how the various components of Hadoop &amp; Spark technology stack fit into the Collect-Store-Process cycle for Big Data. He further explained how many programming languages such as Python, Scala, Java, SparkR can be used in the ecosystem<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Thereafter, the webinar discussion progressed to the next level as Sandeep introduced the history and meaning of Artificial Intelligence<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He, then explained that Reasoning, Navigation, Natural Language Processing, Knowledge &amp; Perception are the current scope of AI &#8212; and future scope should include Emotional Intelligence &amp; Intuition<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Thereafter, the presenter discussed the nuances of Machine Learning and delved on Supervised, Unsupervised and Reinforcement formats of Machine Learning<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sandeep then explained the concept of Artificial Neural Networks and how this has led to the advancement of Deep Learning<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Thereafter, he provided examples of how the leading companies of the world are using Big Data &amp; AI to improve their operational and business processes<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sandeep then discussed the various frameworks for Machine Learning and Deep Learning &#8211; followed by a hands-on example of using TensorFlow<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The webinar ended with recap of all the concepts and answers to the questions<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><b>The Questions and Answers:<\/b><\/h3>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 180px;\"><img class=\"size-full wp-image-692 alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.cloudxlab.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/AI-Represent-Knowledge.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"866\" height=\"615\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With more than 400 participants, coming from diverse backgrounds and at different levels of experience, it was no surprise that many questions were asked in the webinar.
