In the process of operational intelligence, companies review and evaluate the business processes for the purpose of making strategic business decisions. Generally, a threshold is set for each business process and if the performance of any business process is below the threshold, an email or message is sent to the corresponding business owner.
Company "A" wanted to automate the operational intelligence process. So they developed an algorithm which learns from the past history of every business process and computes the threshold for every business process. It then sends a message well in advance to the business owners so that they can be well prepared for the performance drop.
Is such an algorithm for the operational intelligence, an example of Machine Learning?
