Use cases of mv command

Use cases of mv source destination are:

  1. For renaming, both source and destination must be a single file.

  2. When the source argument contains a single file and destination is an existing directory, then the source file gets moved to the destination directory.

  3. When the source argument contains multiple files or directories, then the destination must be a directory. The files and directories are moved to the destination directory.
